Location: Leipzig Trade Fair

TASK
With more than 80,000 participants and several hundred thousand visitors, Leipzig was the stage for the world's largest competitive and popular sports event at the end of May 2025. The Leipzig Trade Fair was the main venue for the sporting event. The European Championships in artistic gymnastics were held in parallel in HALLE:EINS. The task was to transform the exhibition grounds into a sports arena.

SOLUTION
FAIRNET was deployed throughout the entire exhibition grounds for this purpose. The five exhibition halls were prepared for the “arrival” of the sports equipment. This preparation included equipping the competition and activity areas with stages, platforms, sound, lighting, and video technology, as well as a total of 17 grandstands, furniture, and complete branding, from visitor guidance to advertising spaces. Special challenges included installing floor anchors in the hall floors to tension the steel cables securing the gymnastics equipment, as well as installing large-area subfloors for the sport-specific floors.
HALLE:EINS was divided into an infield, warm-up area, and office areas, including the offices of the competition management, doping control, and changing rooms, using suspensions and room construction. This allowed training, warm-up, and the European Gymnastics Championships competitions to take place under one roof. More than 6,000 grandstand seats were set up for spectators of the European Championships.
In the glass hall, representative show areas, a stage, and numerous presentations were set up by the organizer, the German Gymnastics Federation, sponsors, and partners, among others. FAIRNET transformed the exhibition park into a festival site for up to 10,000 visitors – including the entire infrastructure from fencing and security gates to catering and backstage areas, water supply, and mobile toilets. A large skyliner provides partial roofing for the area.
